Miso Butter Tofu

Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 tablespoons miso
  • 2 tablespoons warm water
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth or 1/2 cup vegetable broth
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 minced scallion ( and light green portions only)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (optional)
  • 1 (14 ounce) container firm tofu, drained

Recipe

  • 1 preheat over to 400*.
  • 2 combine vinegar, soy sauce, water & scallions.
  • 3 cut tofu crosswise into 12 slices and arrange in a single layer in a baking dish.
  • 4 pour soy sauce mixture over tofu; tilt dish so that all of the tofu is coated.
  • 5 dot with 1 tbsp butter that is cut into small pieces (optional step).
  • 6 bake until liquid evaporated completely and tofu is brown for about 50 to 55 minutes (note, the pan will look bruned around the enges).
  • 7 let tofu cool before serving.
