Meatballs Hawaiian

Total Time: 12 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 7 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple chunks
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 2 slices fresh bread, crumbled
  • 1 tablespoon instant minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon clove
  • 1/8 teaspoon allspice
  • 2 tablespoons reserved pineapple syrup
  • 1/3 cup reserved pineapple syrup
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar (packed)

Recipe

  • 1 drain pineapple well, reserving syrup.
  • 2 mix together beef, egg, bread crumbs, onion, salt, cloves, allspice and 2 t of pineapple syrup.
  • 3 mold small amount of mixture around each pineapple chunk.
  • 4 place meatballs in 12x8x2 inch dish.
  • 5 cover with wax paper.
  • 6 microwave at high 4 minutes.
  • 7 pour off meat juices.
  • 8 stir together rest of syrup, ketchup and brown sugar.
  • 9 pour over drained meatballs.
  • 10 microwave at high 3 to 5 minutes longer, until done.
  • 11 serve with rice or noodles or serve with toothpicks as an appetizer.
  • 12 makes about 24 to 30 meatballs.
