Ingredients

- 3 -4 large onions
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 1 (19 ounce) can green lentils
- 1/8 cup olive oil
- 3/4 teaspoon allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
Recipe
- 1 slice onions and add to skillet along with olive oil. caramelize onions. remove 3/4 of your onions and continue to cook remaining onions until they start to get black and crispy. remove remainder of onions and add rice to skillet. cook rice for 3 minutes or until it is mostly translucent.
- 2 return onions to skillet along with the remaining ingredients. simmer on low-medium heat for 20 mins or until rice is tender and the broth is absorbed.
