Koushary

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 50 ml vegetable oil
  • 80 g vermicelli, broken up
  • 500 g basmati rice
  • 2 pinches sea salt
  • 900 ml boiling water
  • 100 g butter

Recipe

  • 1 heat oil over medium heat in saucepan.
  • 2 add vermicelli and cook for 3 - 5 minutes until coated with oil.
  • 3 add rice and salt and stir to coat with oil.
  • 4 add boiling water and cover.
  • 5 cook 15 - 20 minutes, stir occasionally.
  • 6 add more water if need be.
  • 7 stir through butter.
  • 8 allow to rest 5 minutes before serving.
