Nita's Chicken And Artichoke Hearts

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 lbs chicken parts
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 (16 ounce) can diced tomatoes, slightly drained
  • 2 tablespoons crushed basil
  • 2 (9 ounce) packages frozen artichoke hearts, cooked and drained
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 season chicken with salt and pepper.
  • 2 in a large skillet, brown chicken on both sides in shortening.
  • 3 drain off fat.
  • 4 return chicken to skillet.
  • 5 combine remaining ingredients (except artichokes) and pour over chicken.
  • 6 cover and cook on medium low heat for 45 minutes.
  • 7 add artichoke hearts and heat through.
  • 8 serve over mashed potatoes, rice or noodles.
