Mexican Rice (easy)

Ingredients

- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup uncooked long-grain rice
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon taco seasoning
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 2 cups chicken broth
Recipe
- 1 heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
- 2 add rice and cook, stirring constantly.
- 3 sprinkle with salt, cumin, and taco seasoning.
- 4 cook stirring constantly, until slightly translucent (about 10 min).
- 5 stir in onions and cook until tender.
- 6 stir in tomato sauce and chicken broth; bring to a boil.
- 7 reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes.
- 8 fluff with a fork.
