Macaroni 3 Cheese

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb macaroni noodles
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 dash hot sauce
  • 3 cups grated tasty cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated mild cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

Recipe

  • 1 cook pasta according to packet instructions, drain and set aside.
  • 2 heat oven to 180°c (350°f) degrees.
  • 3 in a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and stir in flour to form a paste.
  • 4 slowly whisk in milk.
  • 5 bring to a simmer, constantly stirring over low heat, until sauce begins to thicken.
  • 6 season with salt, pepper and the hot sauce.
  • 7 remove from heat and stir in 1 1/2 cups of the tasty cheddar cheese until blended.
  • 8 butter a 4-quart baking dish.
  • 9 layer pasta, remaining tasty cheddar and mild cheese, and sauce.
  • 10 sprinkle top with parmesan.
  • 11 bake 30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
