My Mamma's Red Clam Linguini

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 8 garlic cloves, chopped small
- 2 (14 ounce) cans ready cut canned tomatoes
- 2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
- 1 (3 lb) can clams
- black pepper
- 2 tablespoons basil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon cayenne powder
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 1/2 cup dry wine
Recipe
- 1 heat olive oil in large pot. add chopped garlic and brown. putt all other ingredients in except clams. boil and add wine.
- 2 reduce to a simmer for 20 minutes. if it needs more liquied add clam juice. add clams, simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- 3 serve over linguine and top with shredded parmesan cheese. serves 6-8.
