Mexican Pie

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 lb lean ground veal
  • 1/4 cup dry breadcrumbs
  • 398 ml mushrooms, sliced and drained (i would try with fresh mushrooms)
  • 1 celery root, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry oregano
  • 5 1/2 ounces tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
  • 1 cup instant rice, uncooked
  • 1 cup water
  • 5 1/2 ounces tomato paste
  • 1 cup cheese, grated

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
  • 2 bottom of pie: mix all ingredients for the bottom all together and put in pie plate of 9 inches.
  • 3 filling: mix all ingredients of the filling, except the cheese and put on the mixture of veal.
  • 4 bake 30 minutes. add the cheese, and put back in the oven for 10 minutes.
