Mom's Barbecue Ribs

Ingredients
- 2 lbs baby back ribs, racks
- 1/2 cup oil
- 3/4 cup yellow sweet onion, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups ketchup
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/3 cup lemon juice
- 1/3 cup worcestershire sauce
- 3 tablespoons mustard
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 4 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
Recipe
- 1 mix all ingredients except rice.
- 2 bring to a rolling boil. reduce to simmer.
- 3 simmer uncovered for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- 4 drain any remaining oil from top.
- 5 boil ribs covered for 15-30 minutes.
- 6 remove from water, save rib stock.
- 7 brush ribs with sauce and grill over medium heat for about 15 minutes, turning once.
- 8 i like to boil a couple of cups of rice in the rib stock and serve the ribs on a bed of rice with extra sauce on the side.
