Milk-rice Horchata

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 1 cup rinsed rice
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cinnamon bark
  • 1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 2 cups skim milk
  • 1 cup sugar, according to your taste (could be less (or more)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 dash ground cinnamon

Recipe

  • 1 soak the rice overnight in the water with the cinnamon strips.
  • 2 next day discard cinnamon strips.
  • 3 process in blender in 3 batches with evaporated milk and soaking water. pass through sieve after each processing.
  • 4 pour into a pitcher, add theskim milk, sweeten, add vanilla and mix well by stirring.
  • 5 refrigerate until serving time.
  • 6 sprinkle a little cinnamon on each serving just before drinking.
