Mariah's Magic Macaroni And Cheese

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces shell macaroni
  • 6 cups water
  • salt
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, grated, divided
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • salt
  • pepper

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.
  • 2 bring lightly salted water and vegetable oil to a boil in a large sauce pan.
  • 3 add macaroni, stirring frequently.
  • 4 cook macaroni until slightly less than done (al dente).
  • 5 drain well.
  • 6 while macaroni is cooking, over low heat, melt 3 cups cheese, butter and milk in medium sauce pan, stirring constantly; be careful not to scorch.
  • 7 mix dash of salt and pepper with flour and whisk into melted cheese sauce.
  • 8 once sauce is creamy, combine with macaroni in large mixing bowl.
  • 9 pour into baking dish.
  • 10 top with remaining 1/2 cup cheese.
  • 11 bake until cheese is bubbly and just starting to brown on top.
  • 12 enjoy.
