Pineapple Chicken

Ingredients

- 3 lbs broiler-fryer chickens
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon msg
- 1/3 cup salad oil
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2/3 cup water
- 1/3 cup celery, chopped
- 1/2 pineapple chunk
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- 1/3 cup corn syrup
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sherry wine (optional)
Recipe
- 1 cut up chicken. (or purchase cut-up whole chicken).
- 2 mix together egg flour, salt and msg. dip chicken pieces into mixture and fry in oil until well browned. add water, garlic, pineapple and celery. cover and simmer for 45 minutes until chicken is tender.
- 3 blend, in a small bowl, cornstarch, honey and ginger. mix well with corn syrup and soy sauce. pour into chicken sauce and stir over medium heat until smoth and creamy.
- 4 serve with rice.
