Macaroni And Cheese

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 3 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1/2 cup margarine or 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 3 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 lb cheese

Recipe

  • 1 .cook macaroni and drain. rinse with cold water.
  • 2 cook and stir margarine, onion, salt and pepper over medium heat until onion is tender.
  • 3 blend in flour. cook over low heat stirring constantly until mixture is smooth and bubbly; remove from heat.
  • 4 stir in milk. heat to boiling, stirring constantly. boil and stir 1 minute.
  • 5 stir in cheese until melted.
  • 6 stir macaroni into cheese sauce. pour into ungreased 3 qt casserole.
  • 7 bake uncovered at 375* for 30 - 40 minutes.
