Macaroni And Cheese - Microwave Version

Ingredients

- 7 ounces macaroni, cooked
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 -10 drops hot pepper sauce
- 1 1/2 cups skim milk
- 8 ounces cheddar cheese (or combination) or 8 ounces swiss cheese, shredded (or combination)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs
Recipe
- 1 cook macaroni.
- 2 put 3 tablespoons butter in a large (1 1/2 quart) casserole. microwave until melted.
- 3 blend in flour, salt, mustard, pepper, and hot sauce. stir in milk. microwave until thick (4-6 minutes), whisking once or twice during this time.
- 4 stir in cheese. microwave 30-90 seconds to soften/melt cheese.
- 5 stir in cooked macaroni.
- 6 in a small bowl, melt 3 tablespoons butter in the microwave. stir in bread crumbs. sprinkle over casserole.
- 7 microwave at 70% power for 5-7 minutes.
