Perfect Brown Rice

Ingredients

- 1 cup brown basmati rice
- 2 cups filtered water
- 1 tablespoon grapeseed oil (or vegetable oil)
Recipe
- 1 lightly and carefully rinse the rice, making sure not to break the grains.
- 2 then add the oil directly to the uncooked rice, coating it.
- 3 boil the water in a in a medium-sized saucepan.
- 4 when it is reaches a boil, add the rice and bring back to a boil.
- 5 lower heat to a simmer and cover the pan with a tight fitting lid.
- 6 cook about 30 minutes or until all the water is absorbed.
- 7 remove from heat. fluff very lightly with a fork and allow the cooked rice to rest--uncovered for at least 5 minutes.
