Perfect Brown Rice

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 cup brown basmati rice
  • 2 cups filtered water
  • 1 tablespoon grapeseed oil (or vegetable oil)

Recipe

  • 1 lightly and carefully rinse the rice, making sure not to break the grains.
  • 2 then add the oil directly to the uncooked rice, coating it.
  • 3 boil the water in a in a medium-sized saucepan.
  • 4 when it is reaches a boil, add the rice and bring back to a boil.
  • 5 lower heat to a simmer and cover the pan with a tight fitting lid.
  • 6 cook about 30 minutes or until all the water is absorbed.
  • 7 remove from heat. fluff very lightly with a fork and allow the cooked rice to rest--uncovered for at least 5 minutes.
