Lasagna (american Heart Association Recipe)

Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon parsley
- 1 tablespoon basil
- 2 1/2 cups canned tomatoes, diced
- 8 ounces tomato paste
- 8 ounces lasagna noodles
- 1 pint cottage cheese
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 tablespoons parsley
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 lb mozzarella cheese, sliced
Recipe
- 1 cook beef until lightly browned.
- 2 add garlic powder, 1 t parsley, basil, tomatoes, tomato paste and salt to taste; simmer, uncovered, until thick, about 45 minutes.
- 3 combine cottage cheese, eggs, 2 t parsley, parmesan and pepper.
- 4 in 13 x 9 pan layer noodles (no need to cook the noodles first), meat sauce, cottage cheese mixture and mozzarella; repeat layers.
- 5 bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
