Lasagna (american Heart Association Recipe)

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • 1 tablespoon basil
  • 2 1/2 cups canned tomatoes, diced
  • 8 ounces tomato paste
  • 8 ounces lasagna noodles
  • 1 pint cottage cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 lb mozzarella cheese, sliced

Recipe

  • 1 cook beef until lightly browned.
  • 2 add garlic powder, 1 t parsley, basil, tomatoes, tomato paste and salt to taste; simmer, uncovered, until thick, about 45 minutes.
  • 3 combine cottage cheese, eggs, 2 t parsley, parmesan and pepper.
  • 4 in 13 x 9 pan layer noodles (no need to cook the noodles first), meat sauce, cottage cheese mixture and mozzarella; repeat layers.
  • 5 bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
