Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup finely chopped yellow onion
- 3 -4 minced garlic cloves
- 3/4-1 lb ground beef
- 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
- 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon seasoning salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon basil
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 3 dashes tabasco sauce
- 1 dash black pepper
- lasagna noodle
- 1 lb lasagna noodle
- 1 cup low fat cottage cheese
- 1 cup fresh parmesan cheese, shredded
- 1 lb mozzarella cheese
Recipe
- 1 heat olive oil in skillet.
- 2 saute onion, garlic, and meat.
- 3 mix in separate pot first the rest of sauce ingredients, then add to the meat mixture, cover, simmer/low boil, 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
- 4 cook noodles to tender, not full. drain in cold water, blot dry and set aside.
- 5 putting together:.
- 6 spread sauce, thin! layer.
- 7 cover with 3 (or 4 if you’re using larger baking dish) noodles.
- 8 spread w/ thicker layer of sauce.
- 9 dot with spoonfuls of cottage cheese (half).
- 10 sprinkle w/ parmesan cheese (half).
- 11 6 or so slices of mozzarella.
- 12 then repeat.
- 13 then, the top layer has noodles, rest of sauce (should be a nice layer), and rest of mozzarella slices.
- 14 let sit in fridge overnight (or if you need to, you can cook it now - reduce cooking time by about 10 minutes or so). take out of fridge 30-60 minutes before cooking. bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes, or until golden hot and bubbly (make sure middle is hot!).
