Peas & Pasta Alfredo

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 1 lb penne pasta
- 15 ounces canned peas
- 2 cups whole milk (or more, depending on how thick you like your sauce)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil (optional)
Recipe
- 1 cook pasta according to package directions and drain.
- 2 melt the butter in a skillet, and add flour to form a paste.
- 3 add the milk and whisk for a few minutes until it begins to thicken.
- 4 add the salt, pepper, and garlic powder (adjust these seasonings to your taste, of course).
- 5 fold in the peas and pasta. continue cooking until heated through and serve immediately.
