Peas & Pasta Alfredo

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb penne pasta
  • 15 ounces canned peas
  • 2 cups whole milk (or more, depending on how thick you like your sauce)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 cook pasta according to package directions and drain.
  • 2 melt the butter in a skillet, and add flour to form a paste.
  • 3 add the milk and whisk for a few minutes until it begins to thicken.
  • 4 add the salt, pepper, and garlic powder (adjust these seasonings to your taste, of course).
  • 5 fold in the peas and pasta. continue cooking until heated through and serve immediately.
