Ingredients
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/3 cup grape nuts cereal
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash pepper
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 (1 ounce) package mushroom gravy mix
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 3/4 cup dry red wine
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 1 medium green pepper, cut in strips
- 1 medium tomato, cut in wedges
- hot cooked rice
Recipe
- 1 in a mixing bowl, combine milk, grape nuts, soy sauce, salt and pepper. let stand 10 minutes. add ground beef and mix well. shape into 15 meatballs. in a 10 inch skillet, brown meatballs on all sides. remove to a platter; drain off excess fat from pan. in small bowl, combine gravy mix, cornstarch, wine and water. pour mixture into skillet; cook and stir until mixture bubbles. add meatballs and chopped onion. simmer, covered, 15 minutes. add green pepper; cover and cook 10 minutes longer. add tomato and heat through. serve over hot cooked rice.
