Oven Baked Macaroni And Cheese

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 lb elbow macaroni
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons onions, minced
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 lb sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese (optional)
  • salt

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400.
  • 2 cook macaroni according to package directions.
  • 3 melt butter in large sauce pan.
  • 4 saute onion in butter until soft.
  • 5 add flour and mustard to butter and cook until bubbly.
  • 6 turn off heat and stir in milk.
  • 7 put back on heat and stir with wire whisk until sauce thickens.
  • 8 turn off heat and stir in worcestershire and cheese.
  • 9 stir until cheese has melted.
  • 10 add salt to taste.
  • 11 mix in macaroni.
  • 12 pour into 11x15 inch pan.
  • 13 top with parmesan cheese (it adds that extra kick).
  • 14 bake for 20 minutes.
